Review Student Work
Understand what your students are doing in speaking practice. This ChitterChatter walkthrough shows how to review a submitted conversation using its transcript, available recording, and feedback.
The video loads from YouTube only when you press play. YouTube (Google) then receives information such as your IP address and browser under Google’s privacy policy. Captions are included in the video. Use the player settings to adjust playback speed, or the CC button for YouTube’s additional captions. If two sets appear, turn CC off. Watch on YouTube if the embedded player is unavailable.

Let's review a student's speaking work. We're in Spanish Conversation, using a sample student submission.
Select Student Work. Choose the assignment you want to review; here, Ordering at a Restaurant.
The table shows each student's status, level estimate, time, and latest attempt. Select View on Maya's row to open her submitted work.
Start with Transcript. Read the exchange between the practice partner and the student, and check the language against your learning goals.
Scroll through the conversation to see how the student asks questions, responds, and closes the exchange.
When a recording is available, you can select Play to listen as you review the student's transcript.
Select Overview for the feedback summary. Review the strengths, growth areas, and progress toward the activity goals.
Detailed Feedback provides more specific guidance. Use it alongside the transcript and recording to understand what the student can improve.
Proficiency shows the estimate for this conversation and the evidence behind it. Treat it as an estimate of this performance, alongside your own review.
When you're finished, use the back arrow to return to Student Work. You can review another student or continue to grading.
