Our commitment

ChitterChatter is committed to providing an inclusive experience for learners, educators, and visitors with disabilities. We work to make our public website and language-learning platform perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

Our accessibility goal

ChitterChatter is designed and tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We completed a comprehensive accessibility assessment and remediation pass in August 2026. While we do not claim that every part of the product fully conforms to every applicable success criterion, we work to meet the standard as fully as possible and continue to improve and retest the product as it evolves.

Measures we take

Accessibility is included in our design, development, testing, and remediation work. Measures taken include:

• Independent manual testing by a certified third-party accessibility specialist.
• Remediation and internal verification of the findings from that review.
• Keyboard-only, assistive-technology, and automated accessibility testing.
• Review of headings, landmarks, names, focus behavior, and form controls.
• Ongoing remediation and regression testing as the product changes.

Scope

This statement covers the ChitterChatter public website and the customer-facing student, individual learner, and instructor web applications. It does not cover the internal ChitterChatter Master Console, third-party hosted services such as Stripe Checkout, or the accessibility of files and materials uploaded by instructors or institutions.

Browser and assistive-technology compatibility

ChitterChatter has been evaluated using keyboard-only navigation, NVDA with Chrome on Windows, VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS, and representative macOS voice commands. We also test current versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Because behavior can vary across browser, operating-system, and assistive-technology combinations, we recommend using the latest available versions.

Known limitations and ongoing improvement

Because ChitterChatter is designed specifically for spoken-language practice, certain core design and instructional decisions may not fully support every accessibility need or every applicable WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criterion. Where a limitation exists, we strive to provide an alternative when possible and continue to evaluate improvements that preserve the learning purpose of the product.

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. We review new and changed functionality, address barriers identified through testing and user reports, and evaluate alternatives that preserve the learning purpose of the product. If a feature does not work for you, please contact us so we can investigate the barrier and help identify an alternative way to complete the task.

When possible, include the page address, the task you were trying to complete, your browser and device, and the assistive technology you were using. This information helps us reproduce and address the issue. We aim to respond as soon as possible.
