Let Students Join with a Class Code
Let students request access to your ChitterChatter class with a class code. You stay in control: entering the code creates a join request, and you approve who joins.
The video loads from YouTube only when you press play. YouTube (Google) then receives information such as your IP address and browser under Google’s privacy policy. Captions are included in the video. Use the player settings to adjust playback speed, or the CC button for YouTube’s additional captions. If two sets appear, turn CC off. Watch on YouTube if the embedded player is unavailable.

Students can also request to join your class with a class code. As the instructor, you approve every request.
Open your class and select People. Make sure you're working in the section the students should join.
Click Class code to open the code and join requests panel.
If the code is off, select Enable class code. The new code appears here, and its status changes to On.
Click Copy. You can share this code with your students through your course announcements or during class.
Entering the code sends you a request. It does not enroll the student automatically.
After students submit their requests, return to Class code. Their names and email addresses appear under Join requests.
Check that each person belongs in this section. Here, Sofia Rivera is a student we're expecting.
Select Approve next to the student. Their request leaves the pending list, and they are added to the class roster.
When you no longer want new requests, Turn off stops them. Reset replaces the code if you need a new one. Both options keep existing pending requests.
Close the panel and check People. Sofia now appears in the roster. That's how to admit students using a class code.
