Create a Speaking Activity with AI
Turn a learning goal into an AI speaking activity in ChitterChatter. Follow a café-conversation example from the first prompt to an activity you can review and customize.
The video loads from YouTube only when you press play. YouTube (Google) then receives information such as your IP address and browser under Google’s privacy policy. Captions are included in the video. Use the player settings to adjust playback speed, or the CC button for YouTube’s additional captions. If two sets appear, turn CC off. Watch on YouTube if the embedded player is unavailable.

Let's create a speaking activity with AI. We're signed in as an instructor, on the Dashboard.
In the activity composer, choose the language your students will practice. For this example, select Spanish.
Next, choose a proficiency level that fits your students. We'll use Intermediate Low.
Describe what students should be able to do. We'll ask for a café conversation: ordering a drink and snack, asking about ingredients, and requesting the bill.
If you want to ground the activity in course content, Upload lets you attach files or choose class materials. Our example uses the written goal.
Click Send. The assistant helps you turn that goal into a specific speaking scenario.
Read the assistant's response and reply with the direction you want. We'll use a café in Madrid, with a friendly server and short, clear questions.
Check the language and proficiency shown below the conversation. If you want to refine the plan, choose Add More Details before starting.
When you're ready, click Start Building. ChitterChatter drafts and reviews the activity. We've shortened the waiting time here.
When the activity is ready, open its details to review what was created.
Check the title, student instructions, and session length. The other steps contain learning objectives, the AI scenario, and evaluation settings. Your activity is ready for you to review and customize.
