Find and Adapt an Activity from Explore
Start with an existing speaking activity and adapt it for your students. This ChitterChatter tutorial shows how to find an activity in Explore and make your own editable copy.
The video loads from YouTube only when you press play. YouTube (Google) then receives information such as your IP address and browser under Google’s privacy policy. Captions are included in the video. Use the player settings to adjust playback speed, or the CC button for YouTube’s additional captions. If two sets appear, turn CC off. Watch on YouTube if the embedded player is unavailable.

Let's find an existing speaking activity and make it our own. We're signed in with an instructor account.
Select Explore in the sidebar. The Educator Library is a useful starting point for activities shared by other instructors.
You can also browse the Community Library. For this example, we'll stay in the Educator Library.
Choose a language to narrow the results. We'll select Spanish.
Then filter by your students' proficiency level. We'll choose Intermediate Low.
Use the search field to find a topic. We'll search for café and open Ordering at a Café.
Before copying, read what students practice and the scenario. Check the level and session length to decide whether the activity fits your lesson.
Click Copy to my Activities. Confirm with Copy to create your own editable version.
Your copy opens in the activity editor. Let's give it a title that identifies our lesson: Café Conversation, Week Two.
Save your changes. You can return later to adapt the objectives, scenario, and evaluation settings for your students.
You now have your own version in Activities. Changes to your copy do not change the original library activity.
