Assign a speaking activity to your class, set its schedule, and choose how you will review the work.

In Activities, find your activity and select Assign to a class. This opens Manage assignments. You will also see another way to open this window after assigning it.

Open Sections and select the class section that should receive the activity. For this example, choose Spanish Conversation, section zero zero one, then Done.

Under Opens, choose Right away for immediate access, or On a date to schedule it. Set September fourteenth at nine a.m. for this example.

Choose a due date, or keep No due date for open-ended practice. For this example, set September eighteenth at five p.m. You can change the time as well as the date.

Next, open Assignment type. Completion only marks the activity done when a student finishes a conversation, with nothing submitted. Select it to see that there is no Evaluation menu or score to set.

If you need an official attempt to review, choose Submission required instead. Students select and submit their attempt. For an activity without a rubric, this reveals Evaluation.

Open Evaluation to see both choices. Ungraded review lets you review the submission without assigning a score. Manual score lets you enter and release one overall score. Choose Manual score for this example.

Manual score reveals Points possible. Enter the total available points, such as twenty. This sets the maximum for your later grade; it does not give students a score now.

Check your selected section, opening date, due date, assignment type, and evaluation choice. One schedule applies to the sections you select here. Use separate assignments when sections need different dates.

Click Assign to one section. The saved assignment appears under Currently assigned, so you can verify the section and dates. Select Done to return to Activities.

Once an activity is assigned, its row may no longer show Assign to a class. Open that row's three-dot menu and choose Manage assignments. This is the alternative entry point for an already-assigned activity.

Your existing assignment is listed here. You can add another section under New assignment, or use Edit schedules in the class workspace to change an existing schedule.

A rubric activity behaves differently. Open Manage assignments for this restaurant activity, which already has a rubric. The assignment type is fixed to Submission, evaluated with your rubric.

Students submit an official attempt, and the rubric provides AI-suggested or manual ratings, according to your rubric setup. You do not choose Ungraded review or an overall Manual score here. Configure the rubric in the activity's Evaluation tab.

Select Done. Your café activity is assigned with its schedule and a twenty-point manual score setting, ready for students when it opens.
