Test an Activity Before Assigning It
Preview a ChitterChatter activity from the student's perspective before assigning it. Check the instructions, learning goals, and AI partner so you can make adjustments before class.
The video loads from YouTube only when you press play. YouTube (Google) then receives information such as your IP address and browser under Google’s privacy policy. Captions are included in the video. Use the player settings to adjust playback speed, or the CC button for YouTube’s additional captions. If two sets appear, turn CC off. Watch on YouTube if the embedded player is unavailable.

Before assigning an activity, try it as a student. A short preview helps you catch confusing instructions and check the AI partner's behavior.
In Activities, open the activity's actions and select Try as a student. The practice view opens.
Review Practice Setup. Test Mic can help you check your microphone. Read the conversation tips, then select Continue.
Read the scenario exactly as students will see it. Continue to Session Focus. And check that the learning goals match your lesson.
Now select Start Conversation. Listen to the AI partner's opening response.

Use AI Text to read the response. Check that the language, difficulty, tone, and instructions fit your students.
Details lets you revisit the goals and scenario during the conversation. For a fuller test, reply naturally and check how the partner follows up.
For this short preview, select End and confirm End Session. Leaving before the minimum time means you won't receive feedback.
Back in Activities, open the activity to make any adjustments. We'll clarify the student instructions, then save the changes.
Your activity is updated. Preview it again after significant changes, before assigning it to students.
